1985 ம் ஆண்டு வரை கருப்புவெள்ளை கணினியில் பயன்படுத்தி வந்தப் பயனர்கள் ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்தின் மேக் கணினியில் முதன் முதலில் ஜியுஐ எனப்படும் வரைகலை இடைமுகத்தை வெளியிட்டனர். ஆனால் 1985ம் ஆண்டு அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்ட மைக்ரோசாப்டின் முதல் பதிப்பிலிருந்து தற்போதைய விஸ்டாவை அனைவராலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது.
